Studio Information

Studio Policies

1. No food or drinks except water allowed in the studio/gym. Please dispose of these items before entering. Please take water bottles with you after class or throw them away.

2. Students should arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before class and picked up no later than 5 minutes after class. We can not be responsible for students once class is over. Children MUST wait inside to be picked up. An adult must wait with your child until they enter the studio/ gym.

3. Students or siblings should not be left unattended in the studio, gym or waiting area. Siblings accompanying parents to observe must remain with the parent at all times.

4. When observing classes please keep the noise level down as to not interfere with the class. No parental "coaching" please.

5. Students must be dressed in dress code as stated in the 06-07 dress code or they will be asked to sit and observe class. Dance or cheer shoes should not be worn outside

6. Stars Dance Cheer and Gymnastics has the authorization to use any and all photos for advertising purposes.

7. Only registered gymnasts are allowed on the gymnastics equipment. Only dancers should be in the dance rooms. Parents or visitors are not allowed in the dance rooms or gym areas. Please remain in the waiting area.

8. Disciplinary problems will be discuss with the parents and every attempt will be made to rectify them. If a student is continuously disruptive to the class and has to be removed permanently the parent will have the option to either pay the remainder of their tuition due for the contract or move the student to a solo lesson and pay the difference in tuition cost.

9. Stars is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please put your child's name on all bags, shoes, etc.

Registration

1. There is a $30 registration fee for individuals and a $50 registration fee for families. This covers ALL activities at Stars (dance, cheer and gymnastics) for one calendar year.

2. This fee is due at registration or as soon as possible in order to hold your child's place in class. You will not be officially registered until we receive your registration form, information sheet, registration fee and 1st month's tuition.

3. All classes are subject to change based on enrollment. Classes with less than 4 students will be cancelled.

Tuition

1. Tuition is yearly. You have several options on how to pay your fees but regardless of the option you choose you are committing to a contract for the total amount. Contracts run September - April.

Option #1 - Pay your tuition in full for the year (5% discount)

Option #2 - Pay your tuition in monthly payments due the first class of each month. Monthly payments not paid by the close of business on the 10th will incur a $15.00 late charge.

2. Tuition can be paid by cash, check credit card or monthly bank draft.

3. There is a $25.00 returned check fee. Two returned checks will result in a cash/credit card only account.

4. If tuition is more than 30 days past due, student will not be allowed to attend class until the account is paid.

5. A tuition chart is included in this packet or available upon request.

Schedule

1. In case of bad weather please call the studio/gym around 2:00 p.m. to see if we will have class. Normally we will follow the public school closings but if the street clear up during the day we will have class.

2. There are no make up classes if the student misses class. If a teacher must miss every attempt will be made to have a substitute or the class will be made up. There will be no prorating or refunds on tuition due to missed classes.

3. Solo/duo classes will be scheduled for the entire year and the same make up policy applies.

Communication

1. Please check the information board in the studio/gym often. We will post information there as well as a monthly calendar. All notes that are sent home will also have a copy there.

2. We will also send notices out via e-mail so please make sure your e-mail address is correct.

3. If you change you address, e-mail or phone number after completing the student information sheet please notify us.

4. A monthly newsletter will be available the 1st week of each month in the studio/gym. They will be located by the information board. Please check here for your newsletter. It will have your name on it and will contain your statement for the month.

Attendance

1. Students should attend all classes in order to benefit from what is being taught.

2. Students that miss class once the recital dance has began to be taught hold the entire class back therefore, any student that misses more than one class a month beginning in January will have 2 options:

Option #1 - Not participate in recital. There will be no refunds on costume or recital fees.

Option #2 - Student can take solo lessons if time permits at a cost of $20 per hour.

Recital

1. Recital will be held in April 2007. Tentative date is April 20th - 22nd or 27th - 29th.

2. Recital fees are $25.00 per student. These fees are due by February 1st. Each student will receive 2 tickets to recital from their recital fee.

3. No flash photography or video taping will be allowed at the recital. I have contracts with a photographer and a videographer so please abide by these guidelines. You may video tape on rehearsal night if you would like.

4. I will have helpers for each class in the dressing room. Students will be signed in at the dressing room and parents will be free to enjoy the show. Students will remain in the dressing room the entire show.

5. All tuition and fees must be paid by April 10th or the student will not be allowed to participate in recital.

NO EXCEPTIONS - please do not ask.

6. Recital tickets will be on sale beginning April 1st for $5.00 each. Children under 5 will be $3.00.

Duo Classes

1. Duo classes will be scheduled after all other classes are scheduled. Priority will be given to returning students and company members.

2. Duo classes will not be discounted.

3. Only those enrolled in a duo class by November 1st will be allowed to perform a duo dance at recital. 4. With teacher approval two dances for recital may be learned in a one hour a week duo class.

Solo Classes

1. Solo classes will be scheduled after all other classes have been scheduled. Priority will be given to returning soloist, company members and returning students.

2. Solo classes will not be discounted.

3. Only those enrolled in a solo class by November 1st will be allowed to perform a solo at recital.

4. Students may, with teacher approval learn up to two recital dances in one solo class (if it is a one hour a week class). Additional ones require another solo class.

Short Term Instruction

1. Students needing a short term class for pageants or talent shows will be accommodated as scheduling permits.

2. Students needing choreography will be charged $100.00 additional for the teacher to choreograph their number. This fee is payable in advance.

3. Fees will be $50.00 per hour or $35.00 per 1/2 hour, payable in advance.

Costumes

1. Costumes will be ordered the 2nd week of November.

2. Costume payments are due as follows:

September 20 - $25.00 per costume

October 20 - $25.00 per costume

February 20 - balance (if any)

** If you miss the deposit dates in September and October you will not have a costume ordered. ANY COSTUME ORDERED LATE WILL COST MORE DUE TO HANDLING CHARGES BY THE COSTUME COMPANIES AND THEY CAN NOT BE GUARANTEED TO BE HERE IN TIME FOR PICTURES OR RECITAL.

3. Costumes will be distributed the week of March 12th. Students will try them on and a parent needs to be present to note any alterations needed. Alterations will need to be completed BEFORE pictures are done.

4. A packet concerning recital will be distributed the week of September 18th.

Pictures/Memory Book

1. We will take class and individual pictures the weekend of March 30th - April 1st. Please plan for that now!

I will have picture envelopes available for you the week before pictures will be taken. Your order and payment will be due on picture day. All pictures will be guaranteed so if you do not like them they can be retake. We do not have proofs provided in order to keep the cost lower.

2. On picture day students should come to the studio 15 minutes before their scheduled picture time. Only 1 adult will be allowed to accompany the student. The studio gets very crowded so we must ask that you not bring friends, siblings and extra adults.

3. We will be putting together a memory book for the year to highlight the students and their activities. This

book will include class pictures taken throughout the year as well as the studio class pictures. The recital

schedule will be included along with the student's names and dances. Also, students will have the opportunity to sell good luck wishes/ads to friends and families that will have their picture featured. I will have examples by January as well as the prices. Books from last year are available if you would like to see them.

4. Any student selling more than 10 ad pages will be entered in a drawing for a free class for the entire 2007-2008 term. (1 free 1 hour class per week)
